Welcome to the Sunday Reset Summer Series brought to you by URBAN AINT DEAD.
The Importance of a Weekly Mental Reset for Better Work/Life Performance Summer Series
It has been one heck of a week. Right? Maybe you cruised social media too much. Didn’t make your word count goals for the week or maybe you just realized that the Indie Love event is right around the corner. Woo…the stress of it all. It’s Sunday and time to reset so you can kick this week’s…ummm…well you know.
Join us as we share some of our staples for a Sunday reset when we're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and exhausted as the work week approaches. Many of us experience these feelings as we transition from the weekend to the weekday grind. But there’s a way to combat these negative emotions: a weekly mental reset.
By incorporating mindfulness into your routine and taking time to practice a mental reset, you can better manage stress and achieve a higher level of performance & productivity when throwing yourself into this creative literary space. Choosing to focus on literature in whatever capacity (writer, publisher, editor, blogger, marketer, designer, etc.) is stressful, exciting, lonely at times, daunting and so rewarding. In this blog post, we’ll discuss the importance of a weekly mental reset for better work performance.
1. Establish a Routine
2. Set boundaries with technology.
3. Create a To-Don't List
4. Get enough sleep.
5. Unplug from social media.
6. Exercise
7. Spend time with loved ones.
8. Do something for yourself.
9. Words of affirmation
10. Prayer and mediation
11. Plan your weekly literary goals i.e., word count, character bible, publishing checklist, etc.
During the hustle and bustle of daily life, it can be easy to forget about ourselves and what we need.
Soooooo...
